Brussels Muzieque invites you to an evening devoted to the violin–cello duo — one of chamber music’s most intense and revealing formats.
Meruert Karmenova (violin), recently appointed concertmaster in Antwerp and an international soloist based in Brussels, joins Polish cellist Kacper Nowak, a Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel alumnus under Gary Hoffman, prize-winner of major international competitions, and a recording artist praised by Diapason, BBC and France Musique.
At the heart of the programme stands Zoltán Kodály’s monumental Duo for Violin and Cello — a cornerstone of the repertoire, demanding and richly expressive. Around it, shorter companion works complete a concert of about fifty minutes: two string voices in close dialogue in the warm acoustic of the Danish Church of Brussels.
